
If you are self-employed or your income changes from month to month, tax can feel like a surprise every year. It does not have to be.
Try moving a fixed share of every payment into a separate savings account as soon as it arrives. Start with ten or fifteen percent and adjust after your first quarter.
Once a month, check the balance against your estimated profit. That short check keeps you ahead of the bill.
